Q1 Aviation Ltd., a Transport Canada Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO), is looking for an experienced and motivated Aircraft Wheel Shop Technician to join our team in Mississauga.
We specialize in aircraft component maintenance, repair, overhaul, inspection, NDT and structural repairs. The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, disassembly, repair, assembly, and testing of aircraft wheel components in accordance with approved maintenance data and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Disassemble, clean, inspect, repair, and assemble aircraft wheels and brake components.
- Perform detailed visual and dimensional inspections of components.
- Identify damage, wear, corrosion, and other discrepancies.
- Perform wheel bearing removal, installation, lubrication, and adjustment.
- Replace seals, O-rings, hardware, and other serviceable components.
- Assist with tire removal and installation in accordance with approved procedures.
- Perform wheel assembly and torque procedures using calibrated tooling.
- Complete required inspection, maintenance, and work-order documentation accurately.
- Perform NDT inspections when qualified and authorized.
- Follow applicable Transport Canada CARs, approved maintenance data, AMO procedures, and manufacturer instructions.
- Maintain strict FOD, tool control, cleanliness, and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Communicate effectively with Quality Assurance, Production, Stores, and other technicians.
- Identify and report non-conformances or safety concerns.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the wheel shop.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience working with aircraft wheels, brakes, or aircraft components is strongly preferred.
- Experience in an aircraft maintenance, MRO, AMO,
or aerospace manufacturing environment is an asset.
- Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, maintenance manuals, component manuals, and work instructions.
- Comfortable using precision measuring equipment and hand/pneumatic tools.
- Ability to accurately complete technical records and maintenance documentation.
- Experience with torque requirements and calibrated tooling.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
