The Press Operator is responsible for facilitating the stamping and production of metal building products through the operation of stamping presses.
Major Areas of Responsibilities
- Daily inspections of press
- Load coil
- Feeding/loading coil
- Die setup
- Preparing labels for boxes
- Producing product using various presses
- Inspection of product
- Packaging product
- Stack boxes onto skids
- Complete production paperwork
- Report press or die issues to maintenance
- General housekeeping of work area
- Other duties as required
- Adhere to health & safety policies and procedures at all times
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Attention to Detail
- Strong organizational skills
- Willingness to work to meet deadlines
- Ability to work well independently as well as in a team
- Effective communicator with co-workers and all levels of management
Education/Certification/Experience
- Forklift experience and certification (asset)
Physical Demands
- Standing for long periods of time
- Bending, twisting, wrist flexing in awkward positions
- Heavy lifting up to 25-30 kg
- Noise (machinery, punch presses)
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this position, the employee will have exposure to a production facility with operating machinery, mechanical parts and moving vehicles. The noise level in this setting is moderate,
and can reach very high levels in the production plant when running the stamping presses as well as certain other machinery. Some areas of this environment are exposed to outdoor weather conditions
