Job Overview

We are looking for a reliable and motivated Kitchen Staff / Line Cook to join our team at Shinka Sushi Bar. The ideal candidate has previous restaurant kitchen experience, works well in a team, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced workplace while maintaining consistency and attention to detail.

Qualifications

- Minimum 1 year of restaurant kitchen or cooking experience
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Good organization and time management skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks during busy service periods
- Strong attention to detail and food quality
- Ability to keep a clean and organized workstation
- Reliable and punctual
- Culinary school education or certification is an asset
- Experience in a Japanese restaurant or similar kitchen environment is an asset

Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook menu items according to restaurant standards and recipes
- Manage food preparation and service for assigned kitchen stations
- Ensure consistency,



quality, and proper presentation of food
- Complete prep work efficiently and accurately before and during service
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times
- Monitor ingredient and food stock levels and communicate restocking needs
- Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing kitchen supplies when needed
- Complete cleaning and closing duties at the end of each shift
- Work closely with other kitchen and front-of-house team members to ensure smooth service

Position Details

- Part-time opportunities available
- Availability may be required between Monday and Friday
- Pay based on experience
- French is not required

Experience

Restaurant kitchen or cooking experience: 1 year (required)

Pay: From $17.60 per hour

Expected hours: 15.0 – 18.0 per week
