Metanoia Café & Dessert Bar is looking for a reliable, energetic, and detail-oriented Assistant Baker to join our early-morning bakery team.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with pastries, takes pride in beautiful presentation, works efficiently, and is comfortable starting their day early.

About the Role

As an Assistant Baker, you will help prepare our bakery display for opening and support the daily production of pastries, baked goods, and other café items.

Our bakery display is an important part of the Metanoia experience. We are looking for someone who understands that consistency, freshness, cleanliness, and presentation matter every single day.

Key Responsibilities

- Arrive reliably and on time for early-morning shifts (non negotiable)
- Assist with daily baking and pastry production
- can work fast, quick, in details, and independently
- Bake and finish croissants, pastries, muffins, cookies, and other bakery items according to Metanoia standards
- Prepare fillings, toppings, garnishes, and finishing components
- Follow established recipes, portion sizes, baking times, temperatures, and presentation standards
- Prepare the pastry display before opening
- Ensure products look consistent, fresh, clean, and professional
- Monitor bakery inventory and communicate low-stock items
- Rotate products properly and follow FIFO procedures
- Label and store ingredients and prepared products correctly
- Maintain a clean and highly organized bakery workstation
- Wash, sanitize,



and properly store bakery equipment and tools
- Follow food-safety and sanitation requirements
- Minimize unnecessary waste and overproduction
- Assist with receiving and organizing bakery ingredients and supplies
- Work efficiently to complete the morning production list on schedule
- Communicate clearly with management and the café team regarding production, shortages, or quality concerns

- Willing to learn Metanoia's recipes, systems, and presentation standards

Previous bakery, pastry, café, restaurant, or commercial kitchen experience is preferred. However, we are willing to consider someone with strong food-production experience and the right work ethic.

Pay: $17.60-$19.99 per hour
