Job Summary
Railtown Catering is seeking a skilled Cook to join our team. As a chef-driven company, we are committed to crafting high-quality, scratch-made dishes that exceed expectations. Responsibilities

- Prep work at our main kitchen + off -site event work as needed
- Prepping, cooking and assembling dishes according to recipes and customer requests
- Ensuring portion control and consistency in food presentation
- Assisting in the development and creation of new dishes
- Ensuring all dishes meet the our quality standards
- Following food safety guidelines to prevent contamination
- Maintaining cleanliness of workstations and kitchen equipment
- Safely operating kitchen appliances and tools
- Monitoring ingredient inventory and reporting shortages to management
- Receiving and storing food supplies properly
- Minimizing food waste through proper storage and portioning techniques
- Organizing and prioritizing tasks during busy periods
- Collaborating with other cooks, servers, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations
- Communicating effectively with the head chef or kitchen manager about any issues
- Assisting other team members during high-demand periods





Candidate Requirements:

- High level cooking experience in fine dining restaurants or hotels
- Strong work ethic
- Positive attitude
- Willingness to learn
- Clean and organized
- Trustworthy and honest
- Food Safe Level 1 is mandatory
- Must have a your own vehicle or rideshare account and a valid BC driver's license

- Hourly pay is $25 to $28 for shop work + $31 to $35 for off-site events (hourly + tips combined)
