Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychologist to join Valor Care. Valor Care is committed to delivering exceptional mental health services to diverse Veteran, RCMP and Frontline patient populations. In this vital role, you will assess, diagnose, and treat individuals experiencing a wide range of psychological challenges. Using trauma-informed care practices, your expertise will help improve the well-being and quality of life for patients. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference through patient-centered care and collaborative teamwork, and have access to a psychiatrist for complimentary patient-care.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to evaluate mental health conditions and behavioral challenges
- Develop personalized treatment plans based on thorough data collection and clinical observations
- Provide evidence-based therapy sessions tailored to individual needs, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, couples counseling, or other modalities
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team—including various medical staff (Psychiatry included), other allied health, and family members—to ensure holistic patient care
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress, treatment outcomes,
and clinical notes in accordance with medical terminology standards
- Participate in ongoing initiatives to enhance therapeutic techniques and improve patient outcomes
- Support patients with special needs (second to TBIs or other head injuries) by designing appropriate intervention strategies to best support them
Qualifications
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited institution
- Valid licensure or certification as a licensed Psychologist in the relevant jurisdiction
- Experience working with adults in clinical or educational settings
- Familiarity in medical environments and patient care protocols encouraged
- Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to mental health treatment
- Interest and comfort with trauma therapies.
- Knowledge of special education practices and accommodations for individuals with diverse needs

Pay: $150.00-$200.00 per hour
