Opportunity:

As the Estimator, you will analyze project requirements, prepare accurate cost estimates and assist in bid preparation for a wide range of construction projects. You will also collect and analyze data while working alongside different teams and delivering accurate cost projections, ensuring successful project planning and execution.

Responsibilities:

- Assemble accurate and well-organized estimates for general tenders, construction management projects and design-build opportunities.
- Analyze plans, specifications, proposals and other documentation to prepare bid estimates for projects.
- Obtain and evaluate quotes from subcontractors and suppliers to compare pricing and ensure competitive bids for the project.
- Perform quantity takeoffs from construction drawings and specifications to determine the required amounts of materials and resources for each project.
- Adequality calculate material, labour and equipment costs and requirements.
- Participate in subcontract procurement, such as qualifications and quotes, calling for tenders and preparing RFPs or RFQs.
- Stay updated with industry trends, construction methodologies and cost data to continually improve estimating accuracy and efficiency.

Experience and Qualifications:

- Post-secondary education in a relevant field, such as architectural and building technology, is preferred.
- A diploma in Certified Engineering Technologist (CET)



or an equivalent academic combination with practical experience is required, with LEAN construction experience considered an asset.
- Ability to read, interpret and understand building blueprints, specifications, contract documents with strong writing and graphic abilities.
- Meticulous attention to detail to ensure precision in cost estimations and to avoid errors that may lead to budget overruns.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, subcontractors and clients.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Collaborative and adaptable team player, capable of working in a fast-paced construction setting.
- Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office and Bluebeam.
- Proven ability to manage priorities under strict deadlines.
