The Role:

LOCATION: Office in Downtown Calgary, In-Person

REPORTING TO: Accounting team

SCHEDULE: 16-20 hours per week. This role can be extended as long as the candidate has capacity in their school schedule to work

The Accounting Office Student role will be based out of the main downtown office working a part-time and variable weekly schedule, dependent on availability and company need. This is an in-person role, ideal for a student currently attending a post-secondary institution and looking for industry experience while actively going to school for Accounting or Finance. This position will work within the Corporate Accounting team. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:





- General administrative office duties including filing, scanning and organizing physical and electronic documents;
- Accounts payable work (research, scanning, accounting entries, spreadsheets, filing, file prep for offsite storage);
- Providing coverage and support for accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as well as assisting with investment materials;
- Creating ad hoc managerial reports and analysis;
- Corresponding with vendors, customers and internal office staff in a prompt and courteous manner;
- Organizing and reconciling tax documents; and
- Assist with other duties and special projects as assigned and required.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must be energetic, able to work well under minimal supervision, and have excellent attention to detail. Other requirements include:

- Must possess a high level of confidentiality and professionalism at all times;
- Entering or continuing studies at an accredited post-secondary institution, preferably taking courses or a full discipline in Accounting or Finance;
- Some experience with accounting systems would be an asset;
- Must be able to take initiative, be adaptable and function effectively in a team environment;
- Possess a great attitude and a strong work ethic; and
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Requirements:

- Successfully complete a background and credit check; and
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
