THE OPPORTUNITY
Summit Search Group has partnered with a well established organization in the HVAC and mechanical services industry on the search for their next Accountant. Based just outside of Winnipeg, the company is entering an exciting period of growth following a recent acquisition by a larger organization that is expanding its Canadian operations.
While the business continues to grow, it maintains a close-knit, collaborative culture where employees are valued and encouraged to take ownership of their work. This is an opportunity to join an established operation with the resources of a growing organization behind it, while playing an important role in the continued development of its Canadian finance function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for full-cycle accounting duties.
- Code and enter vendor expense invoices.
- Manage accounts payable.
- Process accounts receivable and invoice clients and customers.
- Prepare bank deposits.
- Ensure accuracy in the general ledger.
- Process employee timesheets and payroll.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly tax returns.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Accounting or a related field, preferred.
- 1+ year of supervisory experience preferred
- 5+ years of experience in a bookkeeping role.
- Advanced experience with accounting and bookkeeping software.
- Solid aptitude for business.
- Detail-oriented.
- Comfortable working under tight deadlines.
- Experience with financial statements and tax returns.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
