Job Summary:
As a Dump Truck Driver / Equipment Operator, you will play an essential role in supporting our construction projects by safely operating dump trucks and a variety of heavy equipment. Responsibilities include hauling and transporting materials, operating equipment for excavation, grading, site preparation, and material handling, as well as assisting with general site operations as required. During the winter months, responsibilities may also include operating equipment and supporting our commercial snow removal operations. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who is safety-conscious, dependable, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.

Our projects include site excavation and grading, foundation excavation, sewer and waterline installation and repair, septic system installation and repair, chain link fencing and guardrail installation, concrete slabs and curbs, driveways, general and miscellaneous construction, and commercial snow removal.

Responsibilities:

- Safely operate and maintain dump trucks and various pieces of heavy equipment.
- Haul and transport aggregate, soil, gravel, construction materials, and other materials to and from job sites.




- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle and equipment inspections and report any defects or maintenance concerns.
- Load, transport, and unload materials safely and efficiently.
- Operate heavy equipment for excavation, grading, site preparation, backfilling, material handling, and other construction activities.
- Assist with foundation excavation, sewer and waterline installation and repair, septic system installation and repair, and other general construction projects as required.
- Follow site plans, instructions, and directions from supervisors and project leads.
- Perform routine equipment cleaning, basic maintenance, and general upkeep.
- Assist with general labour duties and site cleanup when required.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a construction crew.
- During the winter months, operate trucks and equipment to support commercial snow removal and winter maintenance operations.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications:

- Valid DZ driver’s licence with a clean driving record
- Experience operating dump trucks and heavy equipment in a construction environment.
- Experience with excavation, grading, site preparation, and material handling.
- Ability to safely operate equipment such as excavators and loaders.




- Knowledge of daily vehicle and equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance.
- Strong understanding of safe work practices and the ability to follow company safety policies and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Physically capable of performing duties that may include climbing, lifting, working outdoors, and working in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, and extended hours as required.
- Willingness and availability to participate in commercial snow removal operations during the winter months.
- Experience in sewer and waterline work, septic systems, concrete, fencing, guardrail, or general construction is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of local roads, job sites, and construction practices is considered an asset.

Requirements:

- Minimum 3 years of commercial driving experience, with proof of prior insurance history must be provided.
- Valid DZ license and clean driver’s abstract

Schedule:

- Full-time position
- 10-hour shifts, Monday to Friday
- Overtime and weekend work as required
- Winter snow removal hours vary and may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Adaptable availability is required during winter operations

Compensation:

- Wages starting at $25-$30/hr based on experience, with opportunities for increases based on performance

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour

Flexible language requirement:

- French not required

Experience:

- Commercial driving: 3 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

- DZ licence (required)
- Clean driver's abstract (required)
