Landscape & Snow Sales Estimator

Green Scholars Landscaping — Halifax, NS

Full-time, year-round, in the field. $40–60K base plus uncapped commission. On-target earnings $75–100K. Mileage and phone covered.

This is not a call-centre or inside sales job. Most of your week is spent at properties across HRM — meeting homeowners, walking sites, measuring, and closing work. The rest is desk work: building quotes, following up, and keeping your pipeline organized. There is some flexibility in where you do that part.

About Green Scholars

We are a Halifax landscaping and snow removal company. What we sell:

- Garden renovations
- Sod installation
- Patios and walkways
- Decks and fences
- Garden and property maintenance
- Commercial snow removal for multi-residential properties

Most of our work is residential, with a smaller commercial side.

The role

You own quoting. Leads come in, you meet the client, you scope the job, you price it, you present it, and you close it. Then you hand it to the crew with enough detail that they can build exactly what you sold.

What you will do

- Meet homeowners on site — walk the property, measure, photograph, and scope the job
- Quote commercial snow and grounds contracts for property managers and condo boards
- Build quotes using our pricing tools (we train you)
- Present proposals and explain the scope and price clearly
- Follow up on every open quote until it is won or lost
- Hand signed jobs to the crew with clear notes, measurements, and photos
- Keep your pipeline current in our CRM (job management software — we train you)
- Prospect property managers and condo boards ahead of snow season
- Occasional hands-on work: staking out a job or helping the crew on a busy day
- Desk time to build quotes, write proposals, and stay on top of follow-ups

Where you might be coming from

You may be a landscape qualified looking to move to the sales end of the industry. That is exactly who we want to hear from.

- Crew lead or foreman at a landscaping, hardscape, or snow company




- Carpenter, deck or fence builder looking to get off the tools
- Trades background — painting, roofing, concrete, excavation
- Residential sales for a home services company
- Property management or facilities

What matters is that you can look at a yard and know what the work takes. We can teach quoting and closing.

What you need

- To live in HRM, with your own vehicle and a valid driver’s licence
- Hands-on landscaping, hardscape, carpentry, or trades experience
- Comfort with numbers, and comfort talking to homeowners about money
- Ability to be organized on your own — nobody will be chasing your follow-ups for you
- Flexibility for the occasional evening or Saturday appointment when that is when a client is available
- Willingness to be outside in Nova Scotia weather, year-round
- Steel-toe boots and weather-appropriate gear for site visits

Nice to have

- Experience quoting or estimating trades work of any kind
- Existing relationships with Halifax property managers or condo boards
- Comfort with spreadsheets and job management software
- Snow and ice management experience

Pay and benefits

- Base salary $40,000–$60,000 depending on experience
- Uncapped commission on signed work — on-target earnings $75,000–$100,000
- Mileage and phone covered
- Training on our pricing tools, quoting process, and CRM
- Mostly Monday to Friday, daytime hours, with some flexibility in how you run your week
- Year-round position — this is not seasonal work. Landscaping through the warm months, snow contracts through the winter
