We are looking for a kind, patient and reliable person to provide after-school care for our 10-year-old son, Chukwudi, starting Monday, September 21st.

Chukwudi is autistic, bright and affectionate, and loves maths and music. We are recent to Canada and are looking for someone who can help make his transition into his new routine as comfortable as possible.

The role is mainly to pick him up from school at 3:30 p.m., bring him home, give him something to eat and spend time engaging with him through play and activities until I return from work, usually between 5:00–6:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.

Pay: $18–$20/hour.

This will initially be an after-school arrangement, but we may extend the hours or arrangement over time as our family settles in.

Experience with autistic children would be helpful, but most important is someone who is warm, patient, dependable and genuinely enjoys engaging with children.
