Our mission is to maintain a best-in-class portfolio that consistently delivers excellence in care and services while ensuring economic sustainability.Reports to: Director of CareThe Retirement Home Attendant provides direct personal and nursing care to residents to fulfil the physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual needs of residents in accordance to home polices, procedure and work routines.Key Responsibilities:Delivers personal care to promote comfort and safety for the residents during ADLAssists in the nursing process by observing and reporting the condition of residentKnows the guidelines of care for his / her residents as outlined in resident care plans, gives nursing care according to these guidelines.Provides cognitive, social and emotional support to residentsAssists the resident with use and care of adaptive / prosthetic devicesEscorts residents to dining room and activity roomsParticipates as a team member in co-operation with our departments to ensure quality care of the residents (multidisciplinary concept)Documents accurately and legibly on daily records reflecting residents' condition, care and specific needsDemonstrates safety consciousness by maintaining a clean secure work environment,
practicing good body mechanics and lift/transfer techniquesAttends In-servicesKnowledge and Skills Required:Graduate of Approved Health Care Aide/PSW Course or EquivalentHas passion and heart for providing quality careKnowledge and experience in care planning systems and documentation requiredAbility to communicate positively with other staff, residents and familiesMentally and physically able to perform duties as assignedDemonstrates empathy, concern and interest in providing quality care and service to residentsDemonstrates organizational skills and ability to complete assignments in a timely fashionAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to provide resident care in accordance with application legislation, job routines, nursing care plans, ability to read and write English and understand verbal and written instructions in English.Additional Requirements includeA negative vulnerable sector check completed within 6 months of start date.TB screening documentation as required under the Southbridge Care Homes' Tuberculosis (TB) Screening PolicyWe would like to thank all applicants for your interest in working as part of our team!
