Its steel distributors operations act as master distributors selling steel in large volumes to other steel service centers and large equipment manufacturers mainly on an "as is" basis.Reasons to Join Our Team!Profit-sharing planBenefits programPension planDevelopment and Growth OpportunitiesVarious incentive and recognition programsJob Summary:Determine the most effective method of shipment by utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, rates, and routesEnsure all documents are prepared and organized prior to the truck arrivalMaintain the integrity of the shipping and receiving schedulesEnsure all Customer and regulatory requirements are adhered toImmediate communication of all exceptions for Customer on time delivery or otherwise to the appropriate salespersonEnsure all back orders are released and issued with appropriate material incoming documentsMaintain inventory of shipping materialsCoordinate the timely return of materials though the MRA processCoordinate all inter-branch material transfersRoute all local freight requirements onto scheduled daily preloadsPoint of contact for Sales requests with regards to order status, changes and/or deletionsOrganize all direct supplier to customer shipments, ensuring next day proof of delivery is attainedInvoice all shipped orders, ensuring status is maintained throughout cycleReport on all late orders and daily preload percentageOrganize all documents as required for furtherance to other departmentFile and maintain all records as requiredTime stamps all inbound and outbound driver recordsEnsure inbound material documentation is completed prior to the truck arrivingFollow all Heath, Safety, Quality and Company policies and procedures.Qualifications & Experience:Previous experience in an administrative or coordinator role supporting business operations.Experience working within a logistics or dispatch position, is an assetKnowledge of City of Winnipeg and Rural ManitobaEffective communication skills and problem-solving abilitiesStrong time management and organizational skills (multi-task)Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel, is requiredMetals industry product knowledge, is an assetExperience with AS400-based ERP systems and trucking dispatch software would be an assetSchedule:Monday to Friday, daytime hoursWe are an organization that is committed to the principles of Employment Equity which includes maintaining a fair, equitable and diverse workforce.
