Bracey Compressor Station. Reporting to the Area Manager, the Mechanical Technician will operate and maintain natural gas compression and auxiliary equipment in a manner that meets operational needs, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements. This individual must be a self-starter, capable of working with minimal supervision, who possesses excellent troubleshooting, problem solving, and communication skills.What you'll doPerform mechanical maintenance and inspections on natural gas generators, aero derivative/industrial gas turbines and centrifugal and reciprocating compressorsPerform bore scope inspections on auxiliary power units (APU's), pumps, air compressors, and other associated equipment used in natural gas compressionParticipate in mechanical inspections, overhauls, and preventative maintenance in the RegionComplete job quality assurance documents (JQA's) and work authorization/job safety analysis (JSA's) along with other electronic documentationTroubleshoot equipment problems utilizing technical reference manuals and documentsSupervise and coordinate third party contractorsProvide coaching, mentoring, and training to other personnelDemonstrate safety leadershipLead/manage the safe and effective completion of low to medium complexity projects with effective work management practices such as time management, work sequencing,
and contractor oversightCollaborate and support our business partners as requiredComplete work orders, enter data into job plans, create new work orders, etc. in SAPMinimum QualificationsJourneyman millwright, heavy-duty mechanic, or machinist accreditation(2 years of vocational/technical training from a recognized institution may be considered)5 years of proven experience troubleshooting, testing, maintaining, installing, repairing, and operating mechanical elements of the transmission facilities, such as compressors (turbine or reciprocating) and auxiliary engines, cooling equipment, valves, pumps, fittings, scrubbers, filters, electric motors, etc.Preferred QualificationsExperience interpreting technical reference documents and reading plansCompetence in the use of measuring equipment for the maintenance of mechanical systemsExperience maintaining and troubleshooting large-bore reciprocating engines or turbinesKnowledge of internal combustion engines, reciprocating and centrifugal gas compressors, and standby generatorsBasic knowledge of PLC's and industrial controlsStrong analytical and troubleshooting skillsComputerized maintenance management system and SAP experienceThis position requires candidates to:Have and maintain a valid driver's license and provide a driver's abstract (record) for reviewSuccessfully complete a pre-employment medical screening, including drug and alcohol testingTravel to other company locations for temporary assignments,
