Become a Youth Mental Health Research Assistant at McMaster University, based at St. Joseph's Hospital. This part time role will immerse you in qualitative research about Black adolescents' mental health experiences.
As a part-time Field Research Assistant for the BELONG Study, you will gather insights from youth and health providers. This role, requiring at least six months of experience, is perfect for students aiming for a career in psychology, social work, or health research. You’ll help shape programs that address the specific barriers faced by marginalized youth.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct structured interviews with participants in the community
• Ensure proper documentation and informed consent processes
• Support scheduling and data entry for qualitative analysis




• Engage with community organizations serving Black youth
• Contribute to actionable recommendations from study findings
Requirements:
• Enrolled or completed a post-secondary program in a relevant field
• Minimum six months of experience in qualitative research
• Trauma-informed engagement skills when working with youth
• Familiarity with applying research methodologies
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
