About the RoleReporting to the CFO and Owners, the Accounting Manager will own the day-to-day financial operations of the company, including monthly financial reporting, work-in-progress (WIP) reporting, cash flow forecasting, payroll, and bank reconciliations. You'll supervise the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Accountants, acting as the central point of accountability for the finance function. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is comfortable both managing the details and presenting results to leadership.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Statements & ReportingPrepare monthly financial statements and perform month-end close checklist tasksPost monthly accrual and adjusting journal entriesPresent the financial statement package and KPIs to Company stakeholdersPrepare the quarterly Borrowing Base Certificate (BBC) for bank reportingCalculate bank covenants and monitor ongoing compliancePrepare WCB, EHT, RRSP, and GST filings for Owner approvalWork-In-Progress (WIP)Maintain and update the WIP Master workbook and distribute it to Project Managers/PMAsRun the monthly WIP calculation processPrepare the list of open jobs and coordinate with PMAs to close completed jobsClose out work orders in preparation for monthly WIP revenue processingAccounts Payable & Accounts ReceivableSupervise the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable AccountantsPrepare the AP payment budget based on reconciled bank transactions and coordinate payment strategyMonitor corporate credit cards and flag balances approaching credit limitsDraft the payment list and submit for CFO/Owner approvalSet invoicing targets and work with Project Manager/PMA teams to achieve themFollow up on aged AR over 120 daysPayrollReview timecards for accuracy and completeness prior to submissionSubmit timecards for approval and processingPost payroll journal entries and benefits invoicesRespond to payroll-related questions from staffBank Reconciliations & Cash AnalysisReconcile bank accounts on a monthly basisReview AP files and prepare a spreadsheet of upcoming payments for Owner reviewMonitor cash flow and support budgeting and forecasting activitiesLeadership & ControlsSupervise and mentor the AP and AR Accountants, providing coaching and workload oversightMaintain and improve internal controls, accounting policies, and proceduresLiaise with external accountants, auditors, and financial institutions as neededSupport the CFO and Owner with ad hoc financial analysis and special projectsWhat We're Looking For5–8 years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in a supervisory or management capacityDiploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation (or actively pursuing) is an assetExperience in construction, restoration, trades, or a project/job-costing environment is strongly preferredComfort working with WIP reporting and job-costing processesStrong working knowledge of accounting software; experience with restoration-specific job management systems is an assetSolid understanding of Canadian GAAP, payroll compliance, and sales tax requirements (GST/PST, WCB, EHT)Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilityExcellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to ownership and leadershipHigh attention to detail, solid organizational skills, and the ability to manage competing prioritiesWhat We OfferCompetitive salary of $80,000–$90,000, based on experienceA direct reporting line to the CFO and Owner, with real influence over financial operationsLeadership of the AP/AR team with room to shape processesA stable, growing local company with a strong reputation in the OkanaganSupportive, close-knit team environment
