Primary Care Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)Temporary Full-Time 1.0 FTE (37.5 hours/week) (September 1, 2026 – May 1, 2027)Salary Range: CA$30.00 to CA$38.16 per hourThe Edmonton O-day' min Primary Care Network (EOPCN) is recruiting for an LPN to support our Resource in Clinic (RIC) Program.Reporting to the Program Manager or Designate, the Primary Care LPN offers standardized, patient-centered care to support patients in the primary care environment. Their role is complementary to the primary care physician, and, along with other members of the multidisciplinary health care team. EOPCN practical nurses work to full scope supporting the health and well-being of patients from a nursing care perspective. Specifically, the primary care LPN focuses on health assessment and practical nursing support for patients of all ages with the goal of improving health outcomes and access to primary care services.The EOPCN primary care LPN practices safe, evidence-based care within a primary care clinic setting for clients prenatal to older adult with a variety of bio-psycho-social needs. As a member of the EOPCN co-located in a physician clinic, the LPN is also a representative of the EOPCN and is link to other EOPCN supports and services.The position will be expected to work at various EOPCN member clinics depending on organizational needs.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIESThe Primary Care LPN focuses on assessment and skill-based interventions such as:Health assessment, screening, and documentation of health information from various sources to identify patient health needs in accordance with legal, ethical, organizational, and qualified requirementsUses critical thinking to assess,
plan and evaluate nursing interventions that impact client outcomesPerforms clinical procedures (but not limited to) wound care, medication and immunization administration, ECG, 24h blood pressure monitoring, ear syringing, women's health screeningPrepares examination rooms including selection, setup and maintenance of medical supplies and equipment for all examinations and proceduresAssists physicians with proceduresProvides basic healthy lifestyle education for patients including healthy behaviours, risk reduction and illness preventionParticipates in clinic quality improvement initiativesAssist and support patient navigation through the healthcare system and communityQUALIFICATIONS:Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience within a primary care or community setting. Please note that all candidates for the above position must have:Graduated from an approved Licensed Practical Nurse program, accredited and active through CLHAImmunization and Women's Health CertificationCurrent CPR (Heart and Stroke Foundation BLS Level C- Health Care Provider)Demonstrated knowledge of computer software such as electronic medical records, Microsoft OfficeExcellent interpersonal and team skillsClear communication, critical thinking, and organizational skillsKnowledge of models of client care, with emphasis on interdisciplinary team approachesAccess to reliable transportation to travel to various clinics and the EOPCN central office is requiredWe welcome all qualified applicants.
