About UsThe Penticton Seniors? Drop In Centre Society is a community-funded, volunteer-powered, public access, non-profit drop-in centre in Penticton. Membership is available to anyone 50+ and many of our engaging activities and events are open to non-members in the wider community. Join our energetic team as a Bookkeeper and become a vital part of our financial operations! In this energetic role, you will manage core accounting functions, ensure accurate financial record-keeping, and support the overall financial health of our Society. Your expertise will help us maintain compliance with accounting standards and deliver precise financial reports that drive informed decision-making. If you thrive in a fast-paced setting and have a passion for meticulous financial management, this is the perfect opportunity to showcase your skills and grow professionally.ResponsibilitiesMaintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger accounts using the accounting software QuickBooks.Perform bank reconciliations and account reconciliations to ensure consistency across all financial statementsProcess accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently and accuratelyRecord journal entries, including debits & credits,



ensuring adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger accounting to verify financial integrityManage payroll processing and related tax compliance activities with precisionPrepare detailed financial reports, including budget analysis and account analysis, to support organizational decision-makingRequirementsProficiency in accounting the software QuickBooks.Solid understanding of non profit accounting principles, governmental accounting, and non-profit accounting practicesKnowledge of double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliation processesExperience with bank reconciliation, account analysis, and account reconciliation techniquesFamiliarity with GAAP standards and technical accounting conceptsAbility to handle accounts payable/receivable processes efficiently while maintaining accuracyExcellent organizational skills with 10 key typing proficiency for data entry tasksBasic budgeting skills to assist in financial planning activitiesTax experience related to payroll taxes or other organizational tax obligations is a plusJoin us in a role where your attention to detail fuels our success!
