We help clients deliver successful products by providing scaled production, design‐for‐manufacturing expertise, supplier consolidation and other critical value chain services.Position ObjectiveThe Engineering Co‐op student will support the Process Development Engineering team in the development, optimization, validation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes for medical devices. The role includes process testing, troubleshooting, validation support, documentation, and manufacturing improvement initiative.MAJOR DUTIESSupport the development and optimization of manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, and equipmentAssist engineers with process characterization, DOE activities, validation studies (IQ/OQ/PQ), and process troubleshootingParticipate in LEAN and continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, efficiency, and productivityAssist with process documentation including work instructions, process flows, validation reports, and training materialsSupport trial runs, pilot builds, and manufacturing transfer activitiesCollect, analyze,
and summarize engineering and production dataSupport root cause investigations and corrective actionsCycle time studies and assembly line balancingMonitor and support compliance to ISO 13485, FDA, and internal quality requirementsFUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIESLearning Agility – Demonstrates curiosity and quickly learns manufacturing processes and systems.Analytical Thinking – Uses basic date analysis to support troubleshooting and process improvements.Attention to Detail – Ensures accuracy in documentation and adherence to procedures.Initiative – Proactively supports production needs and seeks opportunities for improvement.Team Collaboration – Works effectively with cross‐functional teams in a production environment.POSITION REQUIREMENTSCurrently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Mechanical, Industrial, Biomedical Engineering, or related disciplineStrong interest in medical device product development and designHands‐on and self‐motivated with strong problem‐solving abilitiesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively within cross‐functional teamsExperience with SolidWorks or other CAD software is preferred3D printing experience is an assetKnowledge of engineering drawings and prototyping is an assetExperience in a manufacturing or regulated environment is considered an assetWe will review applications as they are received.
