Firma Contracting is currently seeking an experienced Pipelayer to work on underground utility projects located in Edmonton. We do rehabilitation work allowing us be less weather dependant and have less downtime due to weather.Hourly Wage: $38-$44 (based on experience)Additional Compensation:Signing bonus available for eligible candidatesEligible for performance bonusesDuties include (but are not limited to):Installation of water, storm and sanitary pipeFollow the established grade for water, storm and sanitary pipeWork closely with mainline operator and top man to ensure efficient flow and productionProvide a high degree of clear communication with operators,



top man and workers in the ditch to maintain secure operations and quality installationContinuous assessment of risk and implementation of required controls / mitigationsComplete site documentation as requiredParticipate in inspections and incidents - address deficiencies / issues through corrective actionsConduct oneself in a professional manner with honesty and integrityRequired Skills:2+ years of pipelayer experience is requiredUnderground utility rehabilitation / replacement experience is an assetAbility to read blueprintsHigh attention to detail and management of quality specificationsSafety consciousStrong understanding of pipe installation process and flow logisticsCompetent in the use of various rigging techniques and mechanismsAble to work independently and follow instruction from the foremanAble to support other positions as neededStrong communication skills – provide instructions clearly with sufficient detailAbility to mentor workers for advancementPhysically capable of performing heavy manual labourConsistent, reliable and always show up for work fit for dutyRequired Certifications:The following valid certifications are mandatoryCSTS 2020WHMIS 2015Ground Disturbance Level 2Confined Space EntryFall Protection
