of Japan.We are hiring for a Skilled Laborer - 1-Year ContractResponsibilitiesAble to read construction plansWhen required and if appropriately licensed and authorized, drive or operate construction equipment used on the jobsite to complete daily work assignmentsAssist in the loading/unloading of equipment and supplies needed for daily work assignments including, but not limited to, cables and multiportClean and maintain all company vehicles and equipment assigned for useFully set up worksite including:- Setting up flagging- Opening manholes or services boxes- Operating hydrovac to clean service boxes and/or manholes- Using gas detectors to assess and ensure gas readings are adequate prior to entering manhole- Cleaning, testing and purging of manholes prior to entering- Completing roping and rodding and full circuit of runs- Hand pulling short run cables or alternatively using hydraulically driven tuggers for long run cablesPlace yellow spiral wrap on cable for identification of fibre optic cableComplete all necessary paperwork associated with redline drawingsComplete production reports for submission to clientsComplete timesheets that are both accurate and timelyProtect organization's value by keeping information confidentialEnhancing Organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishmentAdhere to and promotes the environmental, health & safety policies of AFLPerform other duties as requested, directed or assignedPersonal QualitiesDetail oriented – accuracy is requiredIndependent - ability to work well under limited supervisionResults focused – driven to achieveInterpersonal skills – ability to work well on a teamQualifications1+ year of construction experienceCapable of working in all temperatures and climates and in confined spacesAbility to travel to various site-based projects if requiredWorking ConditionsPhysically demanding workloadWork location: Work in locations that preclude the ability to return homeWork hours: Shift workTraveling is requiredHigh School DiplomaValid Class 1, 3 or 5 Driver's LicenseCertifications & Licenses not required but preferredPrevious Telecommunication experience is an assetWhy Work for AFLWe Care:Our Employees are eligible to participate in our amazing Total Rewards Program which offers: Extended Health and Dental, Vision Care, Life Insurance, RRSP matching, Employee and Family Assistance Program and more.We Include: AFL is an equal opportunity employer that's committed to accessible, inclusive employment.We Develop: We enthusiastically support learning and advancement opportunities for our team members.We Reward:Abundant discounts with various retailers via our Work Perks Program.We have Fun!Employee Events throughout the Year!
