Department: Inpatient MedicineInpatient Medicine is located on the top floor of the hospital (3rd floor) – Pods C and D. These units are often referred to as Pod C3 and D3. Most patients on this unit are admitted from the Emergency Department while others are transferred from the Critical Care Unit or Surgical Unit. Patients are admitted to Inpatient Medicine for treatment and/or monitoring of a medical condition and can expect a stay of 1 – 5 days.QUALIFICATIONSCertification/Experience/KnowledgeCurrent Certificate of Registration ~ College of Nurses of Ontario requiredCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers (HCP) Certificate required (recent within the last twelve months)Medical clinical experience in an acute care setting requiredCertified in Medication Administration required with related experience requiredExperience with Dementia Careis an assetContinuous Ambulatory Drug Delivery(CADD) Pump training, IV maintenance required, including enteral feed and trach careSkills/AbilitiesSatisfactory level of interpersonal skills requiredSatisfactory level of written and verbal communication skills requiredAbility to effectively provide health teaching to individuals and groups requiredAbility to work as a collaborative member of the health team requiredAbility to assume responsibility for patient care in a total patient care climate required,
