More information is available at www.Newflyer.Com.Position SummaryAs an Abrasive Blaster on the Corrosion Team, you play a key role in ensuring the longevity and durability of New Flyer buses. You will be responsible for sandblasting, washing, and prepping the bus frame to meet strict quality and safety standards. Work closely with the painting and finishing team to ensure surfaces are prepped correctly for optimal adhesion and coating performanceEquipment & Maintenance: Operate and maintain blasting equipment, ensuring safe and efficient functionality while monitoring wear on abrasive materialsSafety & Compliance: Adhere to strict workplace safety procedures, especially when working at heights, in confined spaces, and with high-pressure equipmentQualificationsUnderstanding of surface preparation and abrasive blasting techniques—experience in industrial blasting, painting, or surface treatment is preferredAbility to read and interpret blueprints, process sheets, and technical instructions to ensure precision and qualityAttention to detail when assessing pre-blasted surfaces for defects and readiness for the next phasePhysical stamina and safety awareness—comfortable working in a physically demanding environment and following all PPE, ventilation, and equipment safety protocolsEffective teamwork and independent work ability—collaborate in a team-oriented environment while taking initiative to complete tasks with minimal supervisionOur WhyWe exist to move people.
