SUMMIT Inspection Services Ltd. is seeking a CGSB Certified NDT Technician who is self-motivated and safety-oriented to join our team. SUMMIT Inspection Services Ltd. has provided in-service pressure vessel inspections predominately to the Oil and Gas industry across western Canada since 2004, and is seeking a skilled, experienced, and team-oriented candidate who values quality and integrity.SHIFT AND LOCATIONThis position will be site based (Wood Buffalo Region)Fly in/fly out (Calgary and Edmonton hubs)Camp based, 14 days on/14 days off rotationTasks And ResponsibilitiesDetecting deficiencies on heavy equipment using NDT methods and procedures of inspectionInterpret or evaluate test results in accordance with applicable codes, standards, specifications, or proceduresUnderstand and complete work assignments as per company inspection procedures, in a timely, effective and competent mannerDocument and record findings identified in inspections performedComplete field sketches as required in accordance with approved proceduresMaintain and utilize the shared equipment effectively, minimizing and preventing damagePerform the scope of work to completion and satisfaction of the clientUnderstand local jurisdiction regulations in conducting job tasksReport equipment maintenance/repair issues in accordance with company procedures for corrective actionOversee repair and maintenance for equipment assigned and ensure related documentation is maintainedRecord results of inspections and perform NDT methods and other operationsResponsible to adhere to all safety regulations, standards and maintain safe work practicesResponsible to report any unsafe work activities,
hazards or concernsResponsible to mentor and provide guidance to assistant crew membersCommunicate with clients in a friendly, efficient and qualified manner when interactingResolve client questions, concerns or complaintsQualifications/RequirementsMinimum of CGSB UTII/MTII/PTII certificationsAdditional NDT certifications considered an assetMinimum two (2) years of experience in NDT field as a certified technicianTruck Shop experience requiredCWB certifications considered an assetMust have the following valid safety certifications prior to employment: Emergency First Aid, Confined Space Entry and Rescue, and OSSA Fall ProtectionIRATA Rope Access certification considered an assetSelf-motivated with the ability to work independentlyAbility to work at high elevationsAbility to lift up to 50lbs. unassisted and to operate hand toolsStrong verbal and written communication skillsRead and write in EnglishAbility to collaborate on assignmentsExperience working in confined spaces and working from heightsStrong attention to detail required to provide thorough inspection observationsStrong computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and AccessValid driver's license requiredCandidates will be required to pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test prior to site deploymentSUMMIT provides competitive compensation.
