Century Transportation is currently seeking a full time Dispatcher to join our team in Port Hope. This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday from 6:00 am - 3:00 pm, with a one-hour lunch, and an on-call requirement every other week. The Dispatcher is responsible for scheduling and coordinating up to 60 drivers and managing both driver and vehicle assignments to deliver consistent and efficient daily service.Wage: $22.92 per hourQualifications:Experience in the school bus industry an assetGood knowledge of Whitby and surrounding areaExcellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally while exhibiting confidentiality and diplomacyAbility to handle stressful situations in a composed mannerExpertise in organizational planning and problem solvingComputer proficiency in Microsoft Word,



Excel and OutlookPrincipal Duties and Responsibilities:Ensure that drivers and staff are treated in a fair and consistent manner using the guidelines and rules set down in the Driver's Handbook and Policy and Procedures manualEnsure school routes are covered in an efficient and fair mannerHelp charter department fill charters as neededAssist in answering public and driver inquiries and finding solutions to concernsEnsure all required paperwork/requests is completed in an accurate and timely mannerCreate/improve existing Operations systemsKeep appropriate staff informed of any major issues, changes, concerns etc. in an expedient fashionGeneral office duties as requiredWe are proud to be an equal-opportunity employer.
