Job DescriptionPosted Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at 4:00 a.M.Hi Everyone,Larga Baffin is hiringPosition OverviewReporting to the Manager of Housekeeping, the Laundry Person is primarily responsible for ensuring all linens, towels and company uniforms are cleaned, sorted, folded and stocked appropriately and regularly. Identifies the need for deep cleaning and takes initiative to improve standards. Maintains all laundry equipment and informs their supervisor as to any maintenance needs. Assists Housekeepers with cleaning client rooms and other tasks within the housekeeping department as requested.This is a 6-month contract to cover a leave.Key ResponsibilitiesClean and dry all assigned laundry as directedTreat stains, sort, fold and/or hang clean items as directedSafely operate laundry machines; check detergent and rinse agent levelsSort, pack, unpack and assist in receiving, issuing and transporting suppliesMaintain inventory of all cleaning supplies and communicate needs to the managerMaintain all laundry equipment and inform the manager of any maintenance needsPerform additional laundry services when necessaryMaintain a safe, secure and healthy environment for our clients and staffOpen housekeeping department by assigning rooms, coordinating staff sick calls and availability for assignments,



coordinating requests from the front desk on room cleaning and changesAssists housekeepers with cleaning client rooms and other tasks within the Housekeeping Department as requestedAssist with additional tasks as and when needed or assigned by management both within and outside roles and departments to support Larga operations.Minimum Qualifications1 to 2 years of similar laundry person experience in a hospital or industrial-type settingKnowledge and SkillsAbility to perform repetitive physical tasksAble to lift 20 pounds on a consistent basisAbility to work without direct supervisionExcellent customer service and communication skillsAn aptitude for problem-solvingAbility to remain calm in emergency situationsPatience and professionalism to tactfully and diplomatically interact with clients, visitors and staffPreferred QualificationsInuktitut is a solid assetFirst Aid / CPR/ AED trained (or a willingness to learn)Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS ) training (or a willingness to learn)Larga Baffin welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities.
