Department : DesignReports to : Director, DesignLocation : North Vancouver, BCYour opportunity at Arc'teryx:As a Designer 2 - Men's Hike, you design comprehensive apparel solutions that align with the Arc'teryx design philosophies, continuously exceeding our guests' evolving needs. In this highly technical role, you assist in the continued evolution of how we design and approach our Hike apparel offerings, contributing to innovative, relevant and resolved outcomes that fit within our existing collections. You provide resolved solutions that consider materials, feature set, fit, and style to meet specific needs. You bring your curiosity and passion for snow products to imagine and build innovative, relevant designs.Key Products You'll Be Designing ForInnovating current products for Men's hike apparelDesigning pants, woven garments, knits, fleece, insulation and gore stylesThis role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is expected to be performed on-site. We are innovative problem solvers with a focus on collaborative teamwork.If you were in the Designer 2 – Men's Hike role now, here are some of the core activities you would be responsible forCreating and executing assigned product designs within seasonal timelines to complement existing collections as well as future advanced R&D projects when requiredContributing to the commercialization of creative technologies including materials, pattern/part shaping and construction techniques for existing and product categoriesCreating mockups and prototypes to explore, resolve, or prove new concepts or construction techniquesProviding detailed product initiations to Product Development, including spec drawings, pattern and fit direction, and material informationCollaborating with the Fit & Pattern Team to resolve fit style and construction issues and ensure a fully commercialized productCoordinating with the Raw Materials team to test new materials and ensure that necessary items are available for prototypingDeveloping and maintaining a thorough understanding of the materials and manufacturing techniques that Arc'teryx works withCollaborating closely with other Designers to bring new and better toolbox solutions that benefit the brand (such as recent technologies, construction techniques, features, etc.)Staying up to date with industry trends,



collaborating with Arc'teryx athletes and other industry representatives to help ensure Arc'teryx is exceeding our guests' evolving needsAssisting with current product design changes where necessary to address in-line production issuesSupporting the Design Director in developing a schedule for the flow of the line plan through all development stages, including charting line plan progressPartnering with Development Team Manager to gain visibility into cost estimates, MOQs and LOM concerns throughout concepting and prototyping for seasonal productsPresenting at internal meetings, design reviews and seasonal stage gates, annual seasonal handoffs and other product meetings as requiredAttending tradeshows, company events as well as sourcing and development vendor visits as requiredHere are some things you could be working on in the futureOwning and overseeing all aspects of model creation - from ethos, to plans, through to production, you could grow to oversee hike productsPartnering directly with athletes on product evolutions, feedback insights and relationship buildingAre you our next Designer 2 – Men's HikeYou have a degree in apparel design and 5+ years hands‐on experience designing clothingYou have intermediate knowledge, skill and ability in the technical design process, sewing and garment constructionYou are technically proficient with 3-5 years' experience using the Adobe SuiteYou have proven technical and creative skills to build tech packs, communicate your ideas and you have a solid understanding of garment constructionYou have the capability to create tools and construction methods to assist in solving construction issuesYou are a collaborative communicator, keen to create relationships and spaces for ideation and product explorationYou demonstrate initiative, agility, and commitment, while balancing autonomy and collaborationYou remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity, and thrive in a fast paced, diverse, ever evolving and values led environmentYou have strong planning, organizational, problem solving and decision‐making skillsYou are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues, seeking the best (sometimes not the easiest)

This range reflects market alignment and the scope of the role.
