The salary range for this position is CAD $42.59/Hr. - CAD $42.59/Hr.The hours of work, including start and stop times, days off, work area and work site may be subject to change consistent with operations requirements and applicable provisions of the Collective Agreement and statutes. **Testing may be required. ***A criminal record check may be requiredAre you a HVAC/Refrigeration Mechanic interested in a role that directly supports the delivery of care, ensuring critical heating, cooling, ventilation and refrigeration systems are always operational when they're needed most?As a HVAC/Refrigeration Mechanic at the state-of-the-art new St. Paul's Hospital opening in Vancouver in 2027, you'll play a critical role in maintaining the complex environmental systems that help keep a high-performing healthcare facility safe, comfortable and efficient for patients, staff and visitors.This includesInstall, repair and maintain heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems across a large, energetic hospital environmentPerform preventative maintenance to ensure HVAC/R systems operate reliably and meet strict healthcare, safety and regulatory standardsTroubleshoot and repair air handling units, compressors, pumps, fans, motors, controls and refrigeration equipmentOperate and program Building Automation Systems (BAS) to optimize system performance and efficiencyPerform air balancing tests and system inspections to maintain proper airflow and environmental conditionsWork closely with other skilled trades and Facilities teams to support day-to-day operations and long-term infrastructure projectsContribute to a safe, comfortable and functional environment that supports patient care, staff and the broader communityWe know skilled trades people have options. We value the cultural richness that our diverse workforce brings to the care of our equally diverse population of patients and residents.A comprehensive health benefits package including dental, vision, and life insurance as well as pension.Your Day to DayReview work requests and consult with SupervisorPerform operational and safety risk assessments and coordinate work with user departmentsRepair, maintain and install heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems including pneumatic, electrical and electronic controlsInstall and repair refrigeration systems such as fridges, freezers, coolers and ice machinesInstall motors, controls, switches and piping for gas and other fluidsOperate and program Building Automation Systems and related HVAC/R equipmentCarry out preventative maintenance programs for HVAC, refrigeration and control systemsPerform air balancing tests using equipment such as velometers and static pressure instrumentsRepair and maintain mechanical equipment including compressors, steam valves, pumps, supply and exhaust fans and sterilizing equipmentEnsure work is completed in accordance with applicable codes, regulations and safety standardsComplete related reports, documentation and maintenance recordsview work requests and consult with SupervisorWho We AreProvidence Health Care is building the new St. Paul's Hospital, a state-of-the-art health campus opening in 2027.
