OverviewAdastra is seeking a highly analytical Business Systems Analyst to bridge the gap between business needs and technology solutions. This role is responsible for gathering and translating requirements, analyzing data, and supporting the delivery of system enhancements and business initiatives.The successful candidate will leverage SQL, Python, and data analysis skills to identify insights, improve processes, validate data quality, and support informed decision-making. Working closely with business stakeholders, developers, QA teams, and product owners, this individual will play a key role in delivering scalable solutions that drive operational efficiency and business value.Primary Location: Toronto, ONWork Model: Hybrid 3-Days OnsiteEmployment Type: Permanent Full-TimeVacancy Status: NewCompensation Range: $85,000 - $95,000 CADRESPONSIBILITIESGather, document, and analyze business requirements from stakeholders across departmentsTranslate business needs into functional specifications and user stories for development teamsWrite and optimize SQL queries to extract, analyze, and validate data across systemsUse Python for data analysis, automation, and building scripts/tools to support business processesPerform data validation, reconciliation, and quality checksCreate process flow diagrams, workflows, and system documentationSupport UAT (User Acceptance Testing) — write test cases, execute tests, and log defectsCollaborate with developers, QA,



and product owners throughout the SDLCIdentify opportunities for process improvement and system enhancementsBuild reports and dashboards to support business decision-makingAct as liaison between business units and IT/development teamsQUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field2–4+ years of experience as a Business/Systems AnalystStrong proficiency in SQL (complex queries, joins, stored procedures, performance tuning)Working knowledge of Python for data analysis and scripting (Pandas, NumPy, etc.)Experience with requirements gathering and documentation (BRDs, FRDs, user stories)Familiarity with data visualization/BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, or similar)Understanding of relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL)Excellent communication and stakeholder management skillsExperience working in Agile/Scrum environmentsABOUT ADASTRAAdastra is a global leader in AI and data-driven transformation, helping organizations lead with artificial intelligence—responsibly, strategically, and at scale.
