Department: Emergency DepartmentThe Emergency Department is open 24 hrs/day 7 days per week. It is staffed by a multi-disciplinary team of registered nurses, registered respiratory therapists, social services, pastoral care, crisis intervention, orthopedic technicians and other members of our health care team.QUALIFICATIONSCertification/Experience/KnowledgeGraduate of a Community College in the Medical Office Administration Program or equivalent requiredMedical Terminology Certificate requiredClerical experience in Emergency requiredPatient Registration/Bed Allocation experience requiredKeyboarding skills (60 wpm/95% accuracy) and Data Entry Skills (6200 kph/95% accuracy) requiredKnowledge of Collective Agreements, payroll time sheet experience is an assetKnowledge of Expanse is preferredSkills/AbilitiesExcellent demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with all members of the health team requiredAbility to work in a fast-paced high stress environment requiredDemonstrated ability to deal effectively with a variety of client groups to ensure patient focussed care delivery and positive customer relations requiredGood attendance and work record requiredMust demonstrate commitment to ensure the safety of fellow workers, patients, volunteers,
and visitorsMust support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events in this organizationBilingualism (Advanced level English/French) is required.
