About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a skilled Geothermal Energy Specialist to join their innovative team in Kimberley . This role will focus on the exploration, development, and management of geothermal resources for power generation and direct-use applications. You will contribute to identifying promising sites, conducting geological surveys, and overseeing the engineering and operational aspects of geothermal projects. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in geology, geophysics, or relevant engineering disciplines, coupled with experience in the geothermal energy sector , playing a key role in harnessing this sustainable resource in the Northern Cape. Key Responsibilities

Conduct geological and geophysical surveys to identify and evaluate potential geothermal resources. Develop drilling plans and oversee drilling operations for exploration and production wells. Design and manage the implementation of geothermal power plants and direct-use systems. Monitor reservoir performance and implement strategies for sustainable resource management. Collaborate with engineering and construction partners throughout the project lifecycle.



Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and best practices in geothermal resource development. Requirements

Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in Geology, Geophysics, or a related Earth Science field, with a specialization in Geothermal Energy. Minimum of 6 years of experience in the geothermal industry, including resource assessment and project development. Strong understanding of reservoir engineering, drilling technologies, and geothermal power plant design. Proficiency with geological modeling and resource assessment software. Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex geological data. Experience with permitting and regulatory processes for energy projects is a plus. Benefits
