Learn more about us on our website athttps://landseacamps.Com/About Working in Remote CampsOur camps are located in remote areas and staff live on-site on scheduled shifts and leave camp on scheduled breaks.Most of our LandSea camps offer individual staff accommodation, ensuite or shared bathroom, full meals, WIFI and some have health/gym facilities for staff.Camp staff work long hours and multiple days in a row. A typical workday is between 10-12 hours (day or night shift) and overtime rates apply.Health and Safety and a Respectful Workplace are essential for everyone working together at LandSea. Our camps are drug and alcohol-free workplaces and require pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.The Relief Chef Manger / Breakfast Baker / Housekeeper is responsible for the overall management, quality, preparation, and performance of the kitchen. Breakfast cooking and baking as outlined in a predetermined menu plan. Our team organizes all logistics and travel for employees to get to and from camp.#ACAN150Job ResponsibilitiesChef Manager / Breakfast BakerPrepare and cook menu items for breakfast and baked goods according to recipes and presentation standardsPlan menus and contribute new dishes or seasonal featuresOversee food preparation and kitchen staff (if applicable)Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchenEnsure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulationsSupervise, train and mentor kitchen staffManage inventory, food costs, and ordering suppliesMaintain food costs at acceptable levels, ensure portion control, including maximum utilization of employees and equipmentEnsure daily communication with employees and management including conducting daily Toolbox TalksEnsure guests/clients at site receive superior customer serviceAdhere to all safety practices, procedures and guidelinesHousekeepingMake beds, change linens, comforters and towelsRemove garbage and dust shelvingSweep and vacuum the mudroom, hallway, and entrancewaysCheck inbound and outbound guest lists for room changeover. Report changes and cleaned itemsEnsure bathrooms are cleaned each day (floors, toilets, shower stalls, sinks, and mirrors)Replenish toilet paper, paper towels and soapKeep the laundry room tidy; dust and sweep daily, mop every other dayKeep linen storage clean and organizedThis role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing.
This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).Qualifications5+ years Chef experience preferably in remote camp or hotel/hospitality industryStrong baking experience and skills in a high production environment1 to 2 years housekeeping experience is preferred or a willingness to learn the positionMust have strong leadership skills and experience managing a small teamJourneyman or Red Seal Certification in the Cook trade or equivalent is an assetValid WHMIS and Food Safe Advanced and First Aid Certifications are mandatoryStrong knowledge of cooking techniques and food safety standardsAbility to work in a rapid-paced environmentExcellent attention to detail and well-developed organization skillsStrong work ethic with the ability to work independentlyAlways maintain a professional appearanceWorks safely and responsiblyPre-employment RequirementsLandSea and site-specific Orientation and Health and SafetyDrug and Alcohol ClearanceCriminal Record Check ClearanceHealth QuestionnaireValid Government Issued ID for travel if requiredAbout AramarkAt Aramark, we empower our people to create moments that matter through exceptional hospitality experiences.
