We are currently seeking a Civil Engineer to join our Linear Municipal Infrastructure team. Our team specializes in the critical networks that keep a community moving and connected, including water mains, sanitary sewers, stormwater systems, and roadways.This is a current position and is based at our Halifax or Sydney office. We offer flexible work hours and hybrid work arrangement options to help balance the competing demands of work and personal life.ResponsibilitiesProject Coordination and DesignAssist project managers and engineers in the functional and detailed design of municipal infrastructure related to roads, water supply, sewers, roadway drainage, land development site servicing, storm water management and waste management for a variety of locations including Northern CanadaAssist project managers, engineers, environmental scientists and others on a variety of multidisciplinary design teams (including project engineers, planners, biologists, technologists, etc.)Complete design activities to maintain project schedules and ensure successful project completionCollaborate with multidisciplinary team membersAssist with fieldwork in a variety of locations including Northern Canada, on an as needed basis to provide construction observation, monitoring and data collection activitiesWe empower our teams to automate the routine so they can focus on high‐value, creative problem‐solving. You will be encouraged to experiment with AI‐enabled tools to push the boundaries of traditional design.Sustainable Business DevelopmentContribute to business development activities including client need research, preparation of project proposals and presentationsBusiness travel to other Dillon officesTravel to other Dillon offices as needed to support collaboration, share knowledge,
and drive growth across the firm.Learning & DevelopmentCommit to self‐development and ongoing learning and professional developmentContribute to Dillon's corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committeesQualificationsA degree in civil engineeringRegistered as an engineer‐in‐training, or be eligible within six months3 – 5 years' experience, preferably in the consulting industryExperienceKnowledge of the functional and detailed design of integrated municipal infrastructure including roads, sewers and water mainsUnderstand a range of project design and implementation activities including development of design drawings and reports, contract document preparation, tendering, and contract administrationWorking knowledge of current AutoCAD software; working knowledge of Civil 3D/Land Desktop software will be considered an assetKnowledge of relevant municipal/provincial engineering standards and regulatory requirementsStrong verbal and written communication, organization and interpersonal skillsFamiliarity with local regulations, policies, guidelines, and provincial and municipal permit requirements for environmental agenciesProven skills in detail design of municipal infrastructureFamiliarity with both construction inspection and contract administration would be considered an assetFamiliarity with Northern Canadian design or construction related practices would be considered an assetExceptional communication (verbal and written) skills are essentialBenefitsIn addition to a competitive base salary,
