Pos ition : FB - 1 6 : Educational Assistant – EA 4Location: Father BeauregardHours/Week: 25 - 31 h ours per weekStart Date: ASAPClosing Date: September 3 rd, 2026Job Reference: FB 1 6 - 08 2 8 202 6Fort McMurray Catholic Schools is looking for a full time Educational Assistant in Grades 1-6.Qualifications:Educational Assistant Certificate or DiplomaMay be required to obtain NVCI Level A&BRequirements:Support students' growth in the areas of cognition, communication, physical and social developmentSupport and/or implement teacher directed programmingWork collaborative under guidance of teacher, CST and members of a multi-disciplinary teamImplement specialist (OT, PT, SLP, etc) strategies to achieve required goalsImplement behaviour management and educational strategies that facilitate student learningCommunicate effectively with students using age appropriate positive reinforcements and/or school specific behaviour strategiesObserve student behaviour with focus on achieving positive behavioural/educational outcomes and mitigate/prevent negative onesProvide high level of structure to facilitate completion of required learning outcomesWork and play at student's physical level of their activitiesProvide support in use of adaptive and learning technologies using a variety of devices and associated programsSuccessfully implement the Positive Behaviour Plan(PBP), if requiredMedical Procedures – such as Catheter, Tube feeding, Feeding and swallowing support, or diabetic monitoringAble to understand, implement and support modified curriculumAble to work with and support students with Autism or complex medical needsPhysically handle and transfer students when unsafePhysical ability to lift and move studentsProvide school directed indoor and outdoor student supervisionSwim ProgramEmployee is expected to work with behaviours related/associated with conduct, obsessive/compulsive, trauma and stress related, severe chronic depressive, feeding and/or eating disorders etc. Other behaviours related to ADHD, emotional/behavioural, learning and speech & language-related disabilities, etc may be encountered.The successful candidate will be required to provide a Criminal Reference Check and a Vulnerable Sector Check.
