Caregiver should be able to follow instructions and perform a variety of tasks to help clients. The Caregiver provides services that improve clients living setting and make them feel more at home. They provide personal care, meal assistance, transportation, medication management, and other health care duties as needed.It's an often demanding job as you will have to be available for most of the day and week. But it can also be very satisfying and rewarding, since people who are ill, injured, disabled or elderly are thankful for high quality assistance.ResponsibilitiesHelp clients take prescribed medication.Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor's appointments,



walks etc.)Assist clients with personal care and hygieneHelp clients with physical therapy exercisesPlan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients (when they are able)Do the client's shopping or accompany them when they shopPerform light housekeeping duties that clients can't complete on their ownBe a pleasant and supportive companionReport any unusual incidentsAct quickly and responsibly in cases of emergencyRequirements and skills**Must be in Surrey/Vancouver/BC** (Please do not apply if you are not currently in Vancouver)As this is a live in caregiver role, applicants must have flexibility to move in to live with the client.Proven experience as a caregiverEmpatheticExcellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid (CPR)Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraintsWillingness to adhere to health and safety standardsRespectful and compassionateOutstanding communication and interpersonal skillsStrong ethicsPhysical enduranceHigh school diploma or equivalentTo successfully work with clients, Caregivers must be empathetic.
