S2627-49 Educational Assistant - Ardmore School

We are seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) Educational Assistant commencing as soon as possible. This assignment involves assisting with student educational program needs including social skills, behaviour skills, self-help and personal care needs. This position requires a compassionate and energetic individual to work in a team environment.

Ardmore School

Ardmore School is located in the Hamlet of Ardmore with approximately 110 students in grades K to 8. Ardmore Schools mission is to grow learning and achieve together while building lifelong learners through support and diversity.

Preference Will Be Given To Applicants Who Have

• Post-Secondary training and/or experience as an Educational Assistant


• Knowledge and experience with behavioural strategies


• Experience working one-on-one and/or in a group setting


• Knowledge of documentation procedures and proficiency with computers


• Knowledge and experience in alternate communications strategies


• Experience assisting students with self-help and personal care needs


• Familiarity with strategies to address different learning styles and experience with Individual Program Plans

Training And Skills That Would Be An Asset Include

• Relative experience in educational assistance, nursing and/or rehabilitation


• SIVA and/or Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training
