Medical Device Reprocessing Technician - Medical Device ReprocessingReq ID: 225602Location: Central Zone, Victoria Building - QEIIDepartment: OPCZ PERI Sterile Supply VGType of Employment: PermanentHourly FT (100%) x 1Union: NSGEUSupportPositionPosting Closing Date: 3-Sep-26About the OpportunityReporting to the Manager and Supervisor of the Medical Device Reprocessing Department and in accordance with the established vision and values of the organization, this position performs a series of detailed technical duties related to the decontamination, sterilization, reassembly, function testing and distribution of medical and/or surgical supplies and medical devices for the operating room and various areas of the hospital. In addition, this position performs related clerical duties and record keeping.About YouGrade 12Successful completion of an approved Medical Device Reprocessing Technician Program (course with practicum preferred)Where there are no applicants who have completed the Medical Device Reprocessing Technician Program, consideration for a Medical Device Reprocessing Technician in Training may be given to applicants who are currently enrolled in an approved Medical Device Reprocessing Technician Program or who commit to completing this program at their own expense within the first 12 months of employment (must submit proof of course enrollment before being hired into the Medical Device Reprocessing Technician in Training position).Formal education in anatomy, medical terminology, microbiology,



infection control preferredMembership with the Medical Device Reprocessing Association of Nova Scotia preferredPrevious experience working in an MDR setting preferredExperience operating MDR related equipmentKnowledge of Infection Control measures and Routine PracticesAbout You ContinuedDemonstrated organizational skills and a high degree of initiative and self-motivation are requiredCritical thinking skills to aid with problem solvingAn aptitude for tasks requiring manual dexterity and technical skillRequired to carry up to a maximum of 30 pounds. Position includes repetitive bending, lifting, pushing and pulling carts. Constant standing and walking.
