About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Mobile Plant Mechanic specializing in heavy mining equipment to join their team in Kimberley . This role is essential for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of a fleet of large-scale mining machinery, ensuring operational readiness and safety in a demanding environment. You will work on hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems of excavators, haul trucks, loaders, and other specialized equipment. This is a hands-on role critical to the success of our client's mining operations, falling under the broad umbrella of Installation & Maintenance for heavy-duty assets in the Northern Cape .

Key Responsibilities

- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on heavy mobile mining equipment according to manufacturer guidelines.
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on a variety of mining machinery.
- Conduct thorough inspections to identify potential failures and recommend proactive maintenance solutions.
- Utilize diagnostic software and tools to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
- Ensure all repairs and maintenance activities adhere to strict safety standards and operational protocols.
- Fabricate or repair parts as needed,



and maintain accurate service and repair records.

Requirements

- Proven experience as a Mechanic specializing in heavy mobile plant, particularly mining or construction equipment.
- Strong understanding of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and electrical circuits in heavy machinery.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, interpreting technical manuals, and schematics.
- A strong commitment to safety and adherence to MSHA or equivalent safety regulations.
- Ability to work effectively in challenging site conditions and varying shifts.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to obtain necessary site access clearances for operations near Kimberley .
