Registered Nurse – Multicare Kidney ClinicAs part of a dynamic team at Humber River Health, you will serve as an integral member of the Nephrology Program, supporting patients through chronic disease prevention and self‑management approaches across the kidney care journey.Employment DetailsEmployment Status: Temporary Full-timeDuration (if contract): September 2026Reporting Relationship: Manager, Hemodialysis (Church)Hourly Rate: $41.15–$58.98Union Group: ONAHours of work: Site open 7 days per week; must be available for day/evening 8- and 12‑hour shiftsLocation: Humber River Health, Church siteResponsibilitiesAll aspects of care for patients receiving hemodialysis with a primary nursing focusProviding education and follow‑up to all hemodialysis patientsProviding primary care to assigned patients, including but not limited to ensuring a plan of care is developed in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, updated and communicated with the team in a timely mannerQualificationsCurrent RN registration with the College of Nurses of OntarioBCLS certification upon hire (Registered Nurses currently employed by HRH are exempted)BScN preferredMinimum two‑year acute Medical/Surgical experience, requiredMinimum two years recent Hemodialysis experience, requiredNephrology certificate courses completed or commitment to complete within an agreed period of timeCertification in Nephrology an asset or commitment to complete within an agreed period of timePatient assessment course and demonstrated good patient assessment skillsExperience in peritoneal dialysis an assetDemonstrated valuable interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work with a multidisciplinary teamDemonstrated good patient/family teaching skillsAbility to prioritize and complete assignments in a reasonable length of timeDemonstrated sound judgment, good observation and patient assessment skills, tact and empathyDemonstrated ability to perform appropriately in emergency situationsProven ability to perform a leadership/preceptorship rolePhysically capable of performing the essential duties of the positionDemonstrated understanding of and commitment to Humber's comprehensive safety programs and practicesAbility to be flexible and effectively work in a busy environment with changing priorities and tight deadlinesDemonstrated initiative in improving work skills and processesDemonstrated competency in a variety of skills including intramuscular injections, intravenous therapy initiation and discontinuation, wound care dressing, medication administration, etc.Proficiency in initiating IV therapy, IV push meds and venipunctureBasic computer skills; Meditech experience is an assetKnowledge of a second language is an assetOn‑call duties as assignedExcellent attendance and discipline‑free record requiredUnderstanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles as they relate to health practices; an assetEqual Opportunity EmployerHumber River Health is a member of the Toronto Academic Health Science Network (TAHSN).
