With a strong reputation for quality products, customer service, and dependable distribution, Yen Bros. has been an important part of the food-service industry for over 50 years.Yen Bros. is now part of the Fresh Direct Produce Group, strengthening our capabilities and providing exciting opportunities for continued growth and development as part of a larger Canadian food distribution organization.THE OPPORTUNITYWe are looking for a Junior Accountant to join our Finance & Accounting team in Vancouver.This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who wants to develop beyond routine accounting and gain broader exposure to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, financial reporting, sales analysis, vendor and customer rebates, consignment payments, inventory accounting, reconciliations, and month-end activities.The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, organized, and comfortable working with multiple departments in a fast-paced business environment.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESManage day-to-day Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities, including invoice processing, payments, customer receipts, credits,



and reconciliations.Perform weekly bank reconciliations and assist with general ledger reconciliations.Prepare monthly consignment payment calculations and supporting documentation.Prepare monthly AR and Sales reportsPrepare and monitor monthly vendor rebate reports and support customer rebate calculations.Assist with inventory invoice matching, reconciliations, and inventory adjustment analysis.Support month-end and year-end closing, journal entries, financial reporting, and audit requirements.Assist with time card matching, reconciliations and payroll processWork closely with Sales, Purchasing, Warehouse, and Operations to investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies.Maintain accurate, organized, and confidential financial records.Support Management with financial analysis, reporting, and other accounting and payroll tasks as required.WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FORDiploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance or related fieldMinimum 2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experienceLegally entitled to work in CanadaExperience with ERP or accounting softwareStrong Microsoft Excel SkillsExcellent attention to details and organizational skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a team environmentGood written and spoken EnglishExperience in inventory accounting, manufacturing, or distribution is considered a strong assetWHY JOIN US?This position offers an opportunity to build broader commercial accounting experience within a growing food-service distribution organization.
