Infinite Outsourcing Solutions (IOS) is hiring an experienced HR Manager on behalf of our client in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Location: Halifax, NS
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $100,000–$110,000 per year
Work Location: On-site / In person
Job Overview
The HR Manager will be responsible for managing and supporting all Human Resources functions within a fast-paced logistics and warehouse environment.
This role will work closely with site leadership and operations to oversee workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, training coordination, HR administration, and compliance.
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on HR professional with strong experience supporting large operational workforces and managing HR priorities in a high-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities
HR Operations & Workforce Management
- Manage day-to-day HR operations for the site.
- Partner with site and operations leadership on workforce planning, staffing levels, and labour requirements.
- Develop and support hiring plans based on operational and business demand.
- Ensure effective onboarding and integration of new employees.
- Monitor workforce levels, attendance, turnover, retention, and other HR trends.
- Provide HR guidance and support to managers, supervisors, and employees.
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Manage end-to-end recruitment for warehouse, operational, Team Leader, Supervisor, and other site positions.
- Support high-volume recruitment and workforce ramp-up requirements.
- Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and candidate requirements.
- Conduct interviews and support the candidate selection process.
- Develop and maintain candidate pipelines for current and future workforce requirements.
- Coordinate with recruitment agencies and other external partners as required.
Employee Relations & Engagement
- Manage employee relations matters, workplace concerns, grievances, and conflict resolution.
- Conduct and support workplace investigations when required.
- Provide guidance to management regarding disciplinary actions, corrective actions, and performance concerns.
- Support Performance Improvement Plans and other performance management processes.
- Promote a positive, respectful, inclusive, and productive workplace environment.
- Support employee engagement and retention initiatives.
- Ensure HR policies and procedures are applied consistently.
Training & Development
- Partner with Training and Operations teams to coordinate employee training and development.
- Ensure completion of required onboarding, safety, policy, and compliance training.
- Identify workforce skill gaps and support appropriate development initiatives.
- Maintain accurate training and compliance documentation.
Performance Management
- Support performance management processes for employees, supervisors, and operational teams.
- Assist managers with establishing performance expectations and KPIs.
- Monitor attendance, productivity, turnover, retention, and employee performance trends.
- Identify workforce challenges and recommend appropriate HR solutions.
- Develop and support HR initiatives focused on improving employee engagement, retention, and workforce stability.
HR Compliance & Administration
- Support compliance with applicable employment standards, workplace legislation, company policies, and internal procedures.
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date employee records and HR documentation.
- Support HR, safety, compliance, and operational audits.
- Maintain appropriate documentation relating to employee relations, investigations, and performance matters.
- Support HRIS, payroll, attendance, and employee data processes as required.
- Work collaboratively with Health & Safety and Operations teams to promote workplace safety and compliance standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3–7+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably within logistics, warehousing, distribution, fulfillment, manufacturing, or another high-volume operational environment.
- Experience supporting a large hourly/frontline workforce is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with high-volume recruitment and workforce planning.
- Strong experience in employee relations, workplace investigations, conflict resolution, and performance management.
- Strong understanding of applicable employment standards,
HR practices, and workplace compliance requirements.
- Experience working with HRIS, ATS, payroll, recruitment, or other HR management systems.
- Previous experience within Amazon or a comparable large-scale e-commerce, fulfillment, distribution, or logistics environment is considered an asset.
- CPHR designation or progress toward a recognized HR designation is considered an asset.

Work Environment
This is an on-site position in Halifax, Nova Scotia, supporting a fast-paced logistics and warehouse operation.
The HR Manager will maintain a combination of office and operational-floor presence and work closely with site leadership, supervisors, and frontline employees.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for an experienced HR professional who can effectively balance strategic HR responsibilities with day-to-day operational requirements.
The successful candidate will have strong employee relations, recruitment, workforce planning, and compliance experience and will be comfortable supporting a large, fast-paced operational workforce.
Experience supporting Amazon or another large-scale e-commerce, fulfillment, distribution, or logistics operation is considered a strong asset.
