About Mydas Greenworks

Mydas Greenworks is a Montréal-based Canadian company working at the intersection of arts, technology, science and climate innovation.

We develop cultural and environmental innovation projects in Canada and internationally, bringing together artists, researchers, technologists, universities, cultural organizations and environmental partners.

As Mydas enters its next stage of development, we are looking for an independent Project Manager — Grants & Funding Development to help structure and strengthen our Canadian and Québec funding strategy across the cultural, scientific, academic, environmental and innovation sectors.

The Mandate

This mandate is focused on developing Mydas Greenworks' funding pipeline and preparing priority grant applications for 2026-2027

The selected contractor will work directly with the President of Mydas Greenworks to identify appropriate funding opportunities, structure projects for submission, develop budgets and establish practical systems for managing future applications.

A particular focus will be identifying opportunities that support interdisciplinary projects connecting scientific research, environmental innovation, technology and the arts, including programs requiring collaboration with universities, researchers, research centres or other eligible institutional partners.

This is a deliverable-based independent contract, with flexibility for the contractor to organize their own working schedule and methodology.

Main ResponsibilitiesGrant & Funding Development

- Research relevant funding opportunities across Québec and Canada.
- Assess Mydas projects against funder eligibility requirements.
- Develop a prioritized 12-month funding calendar.
- Lead the development of selected grant applications.
- Prepare and refine project descriptions, objectives, timelines and supporting materials.
- Coordinate required documentation for submissions.




- Support communication with funding agencies when necessary.
- Identify opportunities requiring academic, scientific, nonprofit or institutional partnerships.
- Help determine when Mydas can apply directly and when participation through an eligible research or institutional partner may be required.

Funding research may include programs within arts and culture, scientific research, environmental innovation, climate action, digital technologies, research and development, academic collaboration and knowledge mobilization.

Priority programs may include Canada Media Fund, SODEC, Canada Council for the Arts, Canadian Heritage, Conseil des arts de Montréal, CALQ as well as relevant opportunities connected to SSHRC, NSERC, Mitacs, FRQ, Environment and Climate Change Canada and other Canadian or Québec research and innovation programs.

Project Budgeting

- Develop budgets for priority grant applications.
- Review project costs and eligible expenses against program guidelines.
- Help structure funding scenarios, including confirmed, pending and complementary sources.
- Understand funding structures involving institutional partners, research collaborators and matching contributions.
- Develop a standardized project-budget template that Mydas can continue using after the mandate.

Funding Administration

- Work with a centralized grant and application tracker.
- Be the main point of contact between funding bodies and Mydas Greenworks
- Organize deadlines, submission requirements and expected decision dates.
- Identify reporting and contractual obligations associated with priority funding programs.
- Track programs where Mydas may participate as an applicant, industry partner, research partner, service provider or project collaborator.
- Recommend practical administrative processes for managing successful grants.

Profile

We are looking for someone with qualified experience in several of the following areas:





- Canadian and Québec grant development;
- Cultural and arts funding;
- Scientific, academic or research funding;
- Grant writing and application development;
- Cultural, research or interdisciplinary project management;
- Project budgeting;
- Funding research and eligibility analysis;
- Managing application deadlines and documentation;
- Working with universities, research centres or institutional partners.

Direct experience with Canada Media Fund, Canada Council for the Arts, Conseil des arts de Montréal and** SODEC is strongly preferred**.

Experience or familiarity with SSHRC, NSERC, Mitacs, FRQ or other Canadian research, academic, environmental or innovation funding programs is considered a strong asset.

Experience working with projects involving digital arts, climate science, environmental research, artificial intelligence, bioacoustics, immersive technologies, music, audiovisual production or international collaboration is an asset.

We are particularly interested in candidates who understand how private companies, cultural organizations, researchers and universities can collaborate within Canadian funding programs.

Languages

Professional proficiency in French and English is required.

Working Relationship

The contractor will work directly with Mydas Greenworks' President and will receive access to the project information and documentation necessary to complete the mandate.

The contractor will maintain autonomy over their working methods and schedule while respecting agreed application deadlines and deliverables.

Regular coordination meetings will be established throughout the mandate to review priorities and application progress.

This contract does not guarantee a specific number of successful funding decisions, as funding outcomes and decision timelines are determined independently by each funding institution.

Compensation

The total value of the three-month mandate is:

$6,000 CAD including taxes

Paid in three monthly installments of $2,000 CAD upon receipt of invoice and completion of the agreed monthly work.

The initial mandate is for three months, with the possibility of extending the collaboration based on Mydas Greenworks' funding pipeline, operational needs and the results of the initial mandate.
