Job DescriptionPosted Monday, August 10, 2026 at 4:00 AMPosition SummaryReporting to the Production Supervisor, the Production Worker is primarily responsible for the operation of various shop equipment in order to prepare steel orders for delivery to Salit customers, on time and in compliance with company and customer requirements for quality, in a safe and efficient manner.This position is stationed in our Welland Facility, 90 Centre Street, Welland. Shift work is required for this position.Principal Responsibilities and DutiesOperates machinery, equipment and tools in a safe and productive mannerIdentify and retrieve structural steel/rebar from warehouse racks to fill ordersFeeding and unloading processing machinesEnsure machine guards are in place and material is handled in a safe mannerMust wear appropriate safety equipment as specifiedOperation of Overhead Cranes (Training certification required prior to operating)Operation of Cutting Saws, Rebar Benders and Shears ( Training Provided)Use of a measuring tape to check material lengths and bends in Rebar SteelFollow work instructions, procedures and adhere to Company policies and rulesReport any unsafe acts or conditions of which you are awareMaintaining regular attendance,



arriving for scheduled shift on-timeMaintaining a clean and organized work areaAdhere to the requirements of section 28 of the Occupational Health & Safety ActWorking ConditionsWork is performed in a non-climate controlled environment. Temperatures will fluctuate in accordance with the weather and the season. Employees are to dress appropriately for the weather conditions.Continuous walking, standingOccasional heavy lifting – Employees are to use two man lift techniques or other lifting devices for loads that exceed their ability to lift safely (eg.
