About the Role

Key Responsibilities

- Underwrite commercial insurance applications, assessing risks associated with businesses across various industries.
- Determine policy terms, conditions, exclusions, and pricing for commercial risks.
- Develop and maintain relationships with brokers and agents to secure profitable business.
- Analyze financial statements, loss history, and other relevant data to make informed underwriting decisions.
- Ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines,

- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced underwriters.

Requirements

- Minimum of 7 years of experience in commercial insurance underwriting .
- Demonstrated expertise in underwriting various commercial lines of business (e.g., General Liability, Property, Workers' Compensation).
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent understanding of commercial insurance markets and products.
- Proven ability to manage a complex book of business remotely.
- Relevant professional designations (e.g., AU, CIC) are highly desirable.
