This position will be required to cover vacancies in the Rail Traffic Control Office and will be guaranteed 80 hours bi-weekly.MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for the safe and efficient movement of trains and other on-track equipment on the systemEnsuring that the Canadian Rail Operating Rules and other instructions are adhered to in all casesMaintaining accurate and timely information including incident/accident reports, logs, etc.Maintain verbal communication with train crews, track maintenance crews, mechanical department, telecommunications staff,



management and other railwaysCommitted to Company Health and SafetyREQUIREMENTSSecondary School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalentQualified (or have the willingness to qualify) in the Canadian Rail Operating Rules examination and undergo colour, vision, hearing assessmentCapable of working with minimum supervisionWork efficiently under pressurePossess strong record keeping skillsObey rules and regulationsAvailable for shift work, including weekends, statutory holidays and irregular assignmentsComputer skills involving Windows operating systems is essentialAble to work in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlinesRequires good organizational skillsPossess strong communication and interpersonal skillsPreference will be given to qualified applicants who are fluent in both official languages (English and French)BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONThe successful candidate will need to pass the following clearances: criminal record check, employment references and education verification.CLOSING DATESeptember 13, 2026, no later than 11:59 p.M.We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.EMPLOYMENT EQUITY & ACCOMMODATIONAt Ontario Northland, we are committed to employment equity.
