Join Canadian Mental Health Association Peel Dufferin as an Addictions Support Worker in Brampton's HART Hub. This full-time role focuses on providing essential addiction care and support for individuals in need.
The position entails comprehensive addiction assessments and client-centered interventions, helping those facing homelessness and addiction issues. You will work on a rotational 12-hour shift schedule while participating in community outreach and client education efforts. Your work will help stabilize vulnerable individuals and reinforce their recovery journey.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct addiction assessments, focusing on psychosocial factors
• Offer individual counseling and case management support
• Run recovery-focused and recreational group sessions




• Mitigate risks with crisis intervention strategies
• Refer clients to appropriate community resources
Requirements:
• Degree or diploma in a relevant field
• 2 years of experience in addictions support
• Familiarity with motivational interviewing techniques
• Cultural competence in working with diverse populations
• Must have valid driver's license and explicit police screening
