The Opportunity! As a Commercial Insurance Associate, you will apply your superior attention to detail and excellent client service skills while working closely with a team of Producers and Marketers on our Commercial accounts. You will help build long-term relationships with our clients with helping to answer client inquires and requests through policy and coverage insurers. We currently have openings available in both our Cranbrook and Castlegar branches.

A day in the life

- Assist producer and marketer with all aspects of servicing commercial accounts
- Meet existing clients’ needs and process documentation (Certificates of Insurance, Cover Notes, Renewals, Proposals, Endorsements, In-House Policies, Invoicing, Finance Contracts, Customer Correspondence)
- Review and ensure accuracy of policy documentation from insurers before forwarding to the client
- Contact clients for renewal information
- Take client calls and answer questions regarding coverages, accept and process online quotes
- Negotiate with insurers on coverage and price so as to best meet the needs of the client in conjunction with the producer
- Update client information as changes occur
- Answer account related questions/requests from clients, lawyers, and banks
- Provide policy and coverage information to clients upon request or inquiry
- Will be assigned some minimal,



but regular duties to help support the floater position

What you will bring to our team

- Level 2 Insurance License
- 1 year of commercial insurance experience considered an asset
- 1 year of general insurance industry experience considered an asset
- Industry designation considered an asset (CIP, CAIB, CRM, or General Insurance and Risk Management Diploma, BCIT)
- Highly self-directed with a strong sense of urgency and the ability to manage your own workload
- Strong attention to detail, with accuracy in data entry and documentation
- Committed to following established processes, policy, and compliance requirements
- Collaborative approach and a genuine interest in contributing to a diverse team
- Strong customer service focus with the ability to deliver positive client experiences
- Clear and credible written and verbal communication across all levels of the organization
- Comfortable working in a fast paced, client focused environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Salary Expectations – The expected salary range for this position is $45,000 to $60,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope, and level.
