Join the award-winning Toronto Public Service as a Museum Collections Assistant within our Economic Development & Culture Division. *Eligibility Requirement: This position is funded through the Young Canada Works Program. To be eligible, applicants must be between 18 and 30 years of age and registered in the Young Canada Works candidate inventory. *Please see details below. Major Responsibilities: Participates in aspects of registration, including cataloguing and inventorying, and maintaining database files Creates and updates collections database records and paper files Updates artifact location documentation, including assignment of storage locations,



requests for movements of artifacts services and location tracking, in consultation with the Exhibit and Outreach Technician Applies unique numbers to artifacts using accepted museum practices Improves the general storage of the artifacts, including re-shelving. Travels to various locations across the City to inventory, pick up, and deliver artworks, and artifacts Key Qualifications: Post-secondary degree or diploma in museology or museum related studies or the approved equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience. Experience working in a museum setting or other similar area. Experience in care of collections, cataloguing of objects and/or museum storage techniques. You must also have: Understanding of information technology, particularly database management and digital photography. Ability to communicate and simplify complex information. Robust interpersonal skills to effectively work with staff, volunteers, other groups. Strong organizational skills to file both manual and electronic files. Possession of a valid Province of Ontario Class “G” Driver’s License is considered an asset. Must be 18 to 30 years of age, currently enrolled in school full time and returning to college or university in September 2026. This job is funded through the Young Canada Works program.
