Support and uplift residents as a Wellness Assistant at The Emerald. Participate in diverse activities including arts, music, and fitness to foster a sense of belonging.

In this role, you will assist the Wellness Coordinator by conducting activation programs tailored to resident needs and preferences. Candidates should have completed a recognized Therapeutic Recreation Program and have recent experience in long-term care.

Your focus will be on enhancing cognitive and social abilities of residents through engaging programs and supportive interactions.

Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate music, cooking, and gardening activities
Transfer and assist residents safely during events
Provide and manage assistive devices for residents
Advertise and engage community participation
Track and report residents’ cognitive and functional status

Requirements:
Minimum two-year Therapeutic Recreation Program
Two years of related experience preferred
Valid Class 4 vehicle license, an asset
First Aid/CPR certification current
Preferred training in programs for dementia
